Gaming Industry.... Groan, again.

Image
More gaming groan. It just never ends. Square Enix making  too many Final Fantasy games. I mean this is getting ridiculous. They are making so many, I keep losing count of what number they are on ( I think it's Final Fantasy 100 or should that be Final Fantasy C ?). They seem to forget that they own other companies with some great IP's (Tomb Raider and Hitman are prime examples) STOP MAKING FINAL FANTASY!!! IT'S BORING!!! Microsoft is making Kinect mandatory on Xbox One. I think this sucks. I don't see why I should be forced to buy something I am probably never going to use for gaming or to control my TV. Not cool Microsoft. Not Cool. People comparing mobile gaming success with console gaming success. This is just stupid. They are completely different. It's like comparing Indie cinema with mainstream cinema. Developers talking about how powerful system is, instead of making games. Just shut up and make a game worth playing. 'Gamers' getting exc...

Why are you ruining my childhood Michael Bay?

Image
I'VE HAD IT!! Transformers, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the list goes on. They are things that I loved about my childhood, that are being ruined by Hollywood. However, this post will be focussing on franchises ruined by Michael Bay. Transformers Transformers, the robots in disguise. I really loved this cartoon growing up. It was just so cool. You had robots that could turn into cars, planes, dinosaurs and even radios! So, when I heard that it was going to become a live-action movie. I was pretty excited. The excitement quickly turned into disappointment, which then became hulk-like anger. I don't care how impressive the CGI was. The film sucked. For a few reasons. Mostly because they took out the transforming sound that the robots used to make in the cartoon. The other reasons are Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox. (She is pretty, but added nothing else to the film). In fact, I hated the entire human element of the Transfomers movies. Just take them out and just m...

DC's direction (Part 2)

Image
This is a continuation of the last post. I didn't think I would actually have to make another post. But, if I included this in the last post it would have been too long. So, let's get down to brass tacks.  I was just thinking after I heard the Batman/Superman film announcement that it was going to be them teaming up as the World's Finest (As they do in the comics). But, it turns out that it will actually be a versus movie. Meaning that they will be facing each other. I liked the idea, then it dawned on me. If this is the Man of Steel Superman, wouldn't he just instantly win against Batman? Even though there are many cases of Batman going toe to toe with Superman in the comics. By not having Kryptonite in the Man of Steel film, how would Batman stand a chance? Also, Superman practically destroyed buildings with one punch in the Man of Steel film, unless Batman's bones are made of Diamond, Adamantium and Vibranium I'm pretty sure he would be pu...

DC's direction

Image
So, DC/WB has decided not to take the Avengers Initaivate approach and are going to make another Man of Steel film. This time however, Batman will be in the film. I think this is a good idea. DC/WB would be starting this too late to try and do what Marvel is doing. The best bet is to try and take their own approach. The Dark Knight Trilogy was a good place to start. It sets a standard for other DC films that the Man of Steel has continued. Of course, with Christian Bale unlikely to return as the Capded Crusader, DC/WB  will have to find a replacement for him. Also, they are going to have to make all other films leading up to the eventual Justice League within the Man of Steel Universe. This could work. However, I think that all films are now going to have to be as big as the Man of Steel because anything smaller will be considered a waste of time and a failure. Also I think to save time and money, DC/WB should  do more crossover films with other Just...

Game industry.... Groan.

Image
This post isn't going to be a long, detailed rant about the game industry. Rather, it's going to be a list of things that really annoy me about the industry or things I hate about it. I love everything about gaming, so I am not going to be holding back. That means Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo plus any developers I can think if will be included in the list. SEGA has kept making more Sonic games. Seriously SEGA, NOBODY WANTS SONIC ANYMORE!! GIVE US SHENMUE 3 ALREADY!!! Nintendo is always behind on technological trends. Nintendo, there is no need to do this. You have money, put some of it into making a futureproof  home console. Ubisoft making annual Assassin's Creed games. Come on Ubisoft, it's obvious you are just doing this for the money now.  Activision release CoD annually yet, the game has remained fundamentally the same since CoD 3. *sigh* Sony fanboys  constantly talking about graphics. I know, fans aren't part of the industry. I still hate it. So...

Go Indie

I consider myself to be a real Marvelite. I dabble in DC occasionally. But recently I have diverted my attention away from Marvel and DC in search of something different. I am glad to say that I have found some amazing comics that are not from Marvel or DC. Here are just a few that I have found on my journey through the comic book multiverse.  A quick note, the comics I am going to feature are available on  Comixology  if you don't have a Comixology account, it's free and the service is available across multiple platforms. Also, I don't want to give too much away about these comics because I want you to read them, so don't expect in depth reviews. Bomb Queen (Publisher: Image) I think that Bomb Queen is an amazing series because it is unlike the standard storytelling formula found in so many mainstream comics. Rather than the story be told from the hero perspective. Bomb Queen makes the villain the center of attention. Not only t...

The Curse of Superman

We all know that the Superman actors of the past have had some issues with their careers after they have donned the infamous cape. But with the release of Man of Steel, the curse is once again in the spotlight. Will it effect Henry? You can read more about the curse   here .   What if Henry is next?  What could happen to him?  If I was offered the position of Superman in any live-action form. I would run for the hills! I don't really feel like being cursed for the rest of my life. Thanks but, no thanks. This curse isn't superstition. It is definitely real. Just ask Brandon Routh or Tom Welling or even Dean Cain (if you can find him). Christopher Reeve and George Reeves are unavailable for comment. What do you think is going to happen to Henry? Any thoughts? Don't forget to comment!

Superman....for why?

So, Man of Steel has been out for a while now. I still haven't seen it. Even though everyone is giving it rave reviews. I'm not fully convinced. After the shockingly shambolic travesty that was Superman Returns.  I just don't know if I am ready to put myself through the experience of watching another Superman film. However, as a major comic book fan and a lover of film. I feel it's my duty to watch this film. One of the fears I have is that it will disappoint me like the previous Superman film. It did not. Compared to the previous shambles that was Superman Returns. Man of Steel was so good, this is in comparison to all Superman films after Superman 1. Snyder did a great job. However, I prefer The Dark Knight Rises. For all of the reasons I prefer Dark Knight Rises. ALL OF THE REASONS!! That is just my opinion. What's yours?
