Gaming Industry.... Groan, again.

More gaming groan. It just never ends.



  1. Square Enix making too many Final Fantasy games. I mean this is getting ridiculous. They are making so many, I keep losing count of what number they are on ( I think it's Final Fantasy 100 or should that be Final Fantasy C?). They seem to forget that they own other companies with some great IP's (Tomb Raider and Hitman are prime examples) STOP MAKING FINAL FANTASY!!! IT'S BORING!!!
  2. Microsoft is making Kinect mandatory on Xbox One. I think this sucks. I don't see why I should be forced to buy something I am probably never going to use for gaming or to control my TV. Not cool Microsoft. Not Cool.
  3. People comparing mobile gaming success with console gaming success. This is just stupid. They are completely different. It's like comparing Indie cinema with mainstream cinema.
  4. Developers talking about how powerful system is, instead of making games. Just shut up and make a game worth playing.
  5. 'Gamers' getting excited about the release of a new CoD game. Yeah, it's REALLY not that big of a deal.
  6. 'Gamers' calling themselves 'hardcore' because they play CoD, Halo and Battlefield. No. You're a chump. Try playing Pac-Man, Mega-Man or Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Then we shall see how 'hardcore' you really are.
  7. Rovio sells Angry Birds on consoles for the same price as a full retail game. They must think the whole world is full of mugs! I ain't buying that game. Ever. 
  8. Fanboys/girls talking about console tech specs they don't understand because it makes their console look good. I'm not going to talk about specs I don't understand because it sounds good. I just care about the games being worthy of my time and money. 
  9. Having to pay for DLC content like Guns, Maps and modes in certain games. This really annoys me. Back in the olden days you had to complete the game and or complete certain criteria in order to gain rewards. Now you just have to part with your money in order to get something.
  10. Certain gamers caring about gamerscore or how many trophies they have. You guys do know that doesn't necessarily mean you are a good gamer, it just means you play a lot games.

Silly Sony, they do some shocking things. You know how this goes. This constant fixation on graphics - I find this so infuriating. I like substance over style. To me, Sony and their fans just seem to look to aesthetics and then talk about gameplay. Just watch any Sony conference to see what I'm talking about. The PS4 unveiling conference. It was just full of tech demos and cutscenes . Then they tried to say all of the games will look that during gameplay, then at E3. They just didn't. But what annoys me the most is the fan response to this stuff. They always blow things out of proportion.  There are so many games I have played on PS3 that people said were aesthetically amazing, only to find the game was boring and wasn't actually that good in my opinion. Once such game was Heavenly Sword, everyone said it looked amazing, which it did. But. The game was so boring!! I just think people should stop saying games are good because they appear to be good. Game industry.... Groan.

This post isn't going to be a long, detailed rant about the game industry. Rather, it's going to be a list of things that really annoy me about the industry or things I hate about it. I love everything about gaming, so I am not going to be holding back. That means Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo plus any developers I can think if will be included in the list. SEGA has kept making more Sonic games. Seriously SEGA, NOBODY WANTS SONIC ANYMORE!! GIVE US SHENMUE 3 ALREADY!!! Nintendo is always behind on technological trends. Nintendo, there is no need to do this. You have money, put some of it into making a futureproof  home console. Ubisoft making annual Assassin's Creed games. Come on Ubisoft, it's obvious you are just doing this for the money now.  Activision release CoD annually yet, the game has remained fundamentally the same since CoD 3. *sigh* Sony fanboys  constantly talking about graphics. Switch Hype

Even PS4 characters are hyped for Switch! As I mentioned in my last post, which you can read  here.  I am now the proud owner of a Nintendo Switch. I couldn't be happier. I have downloaded a few demos (I don't have the money for all the games I want right now) and I am really enjoying Fire Emblem Warriors.  Just like Hyrule Warriors before it, it is so much more than a Dynasty Warriors game with Nintendo characters.
