Is the Wii U actually a Gamecube?

Image
I know. That title sounds crazy. But just think about it. I'm not saying it's the same console but, when you compare Gamecube and the Wii U there are a few similarities between the two.  Firstly and obviously, they are Nintendo consoles. But when you look at their launches and life cycles, you can see closer connections between the two. Although it's not the end of the Wii U's life cycle, it's not being sold by the bucketload much like the Gamecube, which sadly suffered poor sales figures for its entire lifecycle . Another similarity between the two is the fact that they are both underappreciated and under-rated. The Gamecube had some amazing games and the despite what people think, it was very powerful too. The Wii U is the same except people have begun to write it off before it's even had a chance to prove itself. It already has some great games and there are more to come. I think critics of it just need to be patient. As the saying goes, ...

My Xbox One experience

Image
Free merchandise. So as I said in the last post, I got the chance to play the Xbox One before release and I must say that I was surprised. In more ways than one. I would like to just say that I have nothing against Microsoft and I have no preferences toward any of the consoles. Also, my photography is terrible, so I apologise for my images. I would like to just mention my initial thoughts of the console as a whole: The Controller is very easy to use and is very comfortable The Console really is THAT big. It's really chunky. The Kinect is also big, but it does actually work. However, you still look like a fool while using it. The loading times for every game were pathetically slow. Even for demos. It's supposed to be next gen and Forza 5 took 2 minutes to load the race. An absolute shambles.  I warn you now, if you are a fan of Microsoft and Xbox and I went to this event with an open mind. So I'm going to be very frank and honest in my opinions. I apologize in...

On the way out

The one and only version of the 360 I ever bought. After five years. My Xbox 360 (the only one I've ever bought because it's never broken) is on it's way out. It's not broken or anything, it's just going to be retired from active service. Next month I will get the PS4 and I already have a Wii U. So I don't really see much need in my 360 anymore because the Wii U and PS4 can perform all the functions that my 360 currently performs. However, I intend on keeping the console and adding it to my collection of previous generations of consoles. I feel a little bit sad that I've spent so much time and money on it and I've had so many joyous hours in return. But as with all good things, they must come to an end. What are your plans for the upcoming next gen? Are you going to be trade, trash or keep your old console? I'd love to hear your opinion, hit me up in the comments!

GTA V first impressions.

Image
I finally got GTA V. Almost a week after it came out (I'm still fuming with Amazon). So, I had to take a while to just get into the game (over 60% completion). Also, I wanted to include some impressions of the multiplayer mode. These are my first impressions of GTA V. I want to keep my impressions brief. Nobody wants to an essay on GTA V. And I don't want to write one.  Single Player Ok. I could just say it's amazing and a great improvement on GTA IV. But that would be selling this game short. I think, in terms of the open-world genre. This game is revolutionary. Now, hold your horses. I know the game is still about senseless killing and doing crazy things. But in the case of GTA V, it's full of little things that make up big differences. One example of a little thing that makes a big difference is the activities that all three characters can take part in. The sports are not only fun but they also serve a purpose. If you put the time and effort into them, you...
