I think I'm doing it wrong

Image
I tried squinting like him ... it didn't work. I can't see it! It just looks the same to me! What's all the fuss about?! At this point you are probably wondering what I'm talking about. Well, wonder no more! I am talking about fps or Frames Per Second and also 720/1080p. Recently there has been a lot of talk about these two things in relation to gaming, especially with the next generation fast approaching on the horizon. The reason I feel a bit lost in the subject is because I can't see it. Some people make a big deal out of it and begin to complain about certain games not running at native 1080p and 60fps (whatever that means). Me on the other hand, when I start playing a game on my Wii U or 360 I don't think about fps or HD. I think about having fun. It's the same argument I always make . What difference does fps and HD make if the game sucks? That's right, none. The game would still suck. I think some people just want to take the fun out of...

2014 is looking very promising (Part 3)

This is the third instalment of this feature. It will be more of the same stuff. Here it cometh . Watchdogs-  I was really intrigued  by this game when it was revealed at E3. Last year when it was delayed so close to its original release date I had to admit I was upset. I hope Ubisoft have been using this extra time to improve the game further and make it something truly unique. Of course, only time will tell. Mirror's Edge 2-  I have to admit when this game first came out, I didn't like it. Then I played it. I loved it. I was hoping that it would get a sequel one day. Then E3 came and put my mind at rest. I can't wait to see what the PS4/X1 and their power create in terms of beautiful gameplay. Dying Light- I think this game is shaping up to be a great looking game. Combining zombies and mirror's edge type gameplay with a focus on survival. I think this is going to be a definite purchase.  Dragon Age 3- I know Dragon A...

I almost forgot to mention

The cursed game that got me kicked out.  I wrote a blog post about my 1st impressions of the Xbox One and my experience, which you can read here. But I didn't give you the full story. I wasn't sure if I should have mentioned it in that post, so I left it out. But I think it's time I told you what happened. In a nutshell, I got kicked out of the event. Now, this wasn't because I began complaining about the games or started fighting anybody. It was actually the console itself that got me kicked out. So, I was playing Forza. Whilst it was loading, I looked down at the controller and I was thinking of taking a picture of it. But as I looked up, the screen was black, the Xbox One was off. I started panicking, I was wondering if it was something I pressed. But I know that I didn't press anything, I was looking at the controller! As the panic continued to settle in, a Microsoft representative rushed over to me looking very angry and surprised. I proclaimed my i...

My Xbox One experience

Free merchandise. So as I said in the last post, I got the chance to play the Xbox One before release and I must say that I was surprised. In more ways than one. I would like to just say that I have nothing against Microsoft and I have no preferences toward any of the consoles. Also, my photography is terrible, so I apologise for my images. I would like to just mention my initial thoughts of the console as a whole: The Controller is very easy to use and is very comfortable The Console really is THAT big. It's really chunky. The Kinect is also big, but it does actually work. However, you still look like a fool while using it. The loading times for every game were pathetically slow. Even for demos. It's supposed to be next gen and Forza 5 took 2 minutes to load the race. An absolute shambles.  I warn you now, if you are a fan of Microsoft and Xbox and I went to this event with an open mind. So I'm going to be very frank and honest in my opinions. I apologize in...

A strange turn of events

I feel pretty ecstatic right now! So, I saw IGN had posted on Facebook, a chance to play Xbox One before its released. Being me. I entered. Not expecting to win. So I was astonished and amazed when I received an email from Xbox/Microsoft saying that I had actually won! I wasn't planning on buying an Xbox One so I'm looking forward to playing it to see if Microsoft can indeed sway me back to Xbox . Monday can't come soon enough. I'm actually really excited and can't wait to play it! Of course I'll report back all of my findings and my thoughts. Stay tuned! (The pictures are screenshots from my phone. Sorry.)

Next-Gen. Is it really next?

I couldn't believe GTA V looked this good, but it does. I've pre-ordered a PS4 and in preparation for its arrival, I decided to look at some of the upcoming games coming to the platform. That's when it hit me. I know in time the games will become better looking. But for now, if I'm completely frank. They aren't that impressive. When I say that, I mean in comparison to the top notch 360/PS3 games like: Battlefield and GTA V. They aren't what I was expecting when all of those fanboys and even the developers were describing the look of next gen games. Maybe I'm being naive but, I think PS3 could handle this.  I think that we will only really see the difference between current gen and next gen when the games being created will no longer be multi-platform. Once games like Battlefield and other high-end graphic games are no longer being developed for 360/PS3. Then the Xbox One and PS4's power and graphic prowess will come into effect. I don...
