FINALLY!!!! Man of Steel 2, Batman vs Superman. Whatever we called it before. The next film to feature DC's finest heroes has an official name and logo.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After seeing the first image of Affleck as Batman I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued by the choice to base the costume on The Dark Knight Returns design. Especially, after the things I said in  previous posts about him being cast as Batman. You can read those posts here  and here. Perhaps the film will pay homage to the famous battle scene from the graphic novel? Only time will tell. You can read more about the new name and logo  here . Well, now we know the official name. The day has finally arrived. I now have a PS4 in my possession. I think I got a great deal. As you can see in the picture. I got the PS4, Man of Steel  and Despicable Me 2 on Blu-Ray, Assassin's Creed 4 and One Year membership to PS+. All for £425. I'm not going to bother with explaining the unboxing or anything. Rather, I'm just going to say. The PS4 is a great console. It is very easy to use and has a very attractive design. I chose it over the Xbox One not because of a bias or preference towards Sony. I chose it because it was cheaper and it attracted me more than the Xbox One. That being said, when I did play the Xbox One I enjoyed the experience and I think for anyone that buy one or has owns an Xbox One it will entertain them greatly. As you can see in the image, Assassin's Creed 4 was the only physical game I got with the console. It was either Creed 4 or FIFA 14. For me, the choice was obvious. He should be locked up for his crimes against me MAN OF STEEL WAS AMAZING!!! It was. But once you start to see it and its faults. It's not so amazing anymore. Not to take away from what Snyder did with Superman in bringing him back from the abyss that Superman Returns left him in. But I think he treated Superman too much like his previous films, that was his mistake. First of all, the film was too long. I don't know why Snyder can't tell a story in under one hundred minutes. It's possible. Snyder doesn't seem to know that though. His last four films have all been over one hundred minutes. In the case of Man of Steel, it was long for no reason. It was just needlessly long. It had too many flashbacks and took too long to get to the point. Another thing that I found really annoying about the Man of Steel was the fact that it was basically a CGI heavy version of Superman 2. It has the same villains, the same fights, the same outcome. He is not a good choice.  Just when I thought DC/WB were picking up momentum after the Dark Knight Trilogy and the Man of Steel, then they announce this? I'll tell you something right now. This film isn't going to be anywhere near as good as Man of Steel, so it won't be troubling Aveners: Age of Ultron at all.  I don't think the film will suck because of him being cast in it. I'm just going to find it harder to take the film seriously or as a serious contender against the might of the Marvel cinematic universe. But of course, only time will tell. Don't get me wrong, I like Ben Aflleck. I just don't think he is superhero material, much less The Caped Crusader. I mean, we only have to look at history to tell us why he isn't the best choice. This is a continuation of the last post. I didn't think I would actually have to make another post. But, if I included this in the last post it would have been too long. So, let's get down to brass tacks.  I was just thinking after I heard the Batman/Superman film announcement that it was going to be them teaming up as the World's Finest (As they do in the comics). But, it turns out that it will actually be a versus movie. Meaning that they will be facing each other. I liked the idea, then it dawned on me. If this is the Man of Steel Superman, wouldn't he just instantly win against Batman? Even though there are many cases of Batman going toe to toe with Superman in the comics. By not having Kryptonite in the Man of Steel film, how would Batman stand a chance? Also, Superman practically destroyed buildings with one punch in the Man of Steel film, unless Batman's bones are made of Diamond, Adamantium and Vibranium I'm pretty sure he would be pu...

So, DC/WB has decided not to take the Avengers Initaivate approach and are going to make another Man of Steel film. This time however, Batman will be in the film. I think this is a good idea. DC/WB would be starting this too late to try and do what Marvel is doing. The best bet is to try and take their own approach. The Dark Knight Trilogy was a good place to start. It sets a standard for other DC films that the Man of Steel has continued. Of course, with Christian Bale unlikely to return as the Capded Crusader, DC/WB  will have to find a replacement for him. Also, they are going to have to make all other films leading up to the eventual Justice League within the Man of Steel Universe. This could work. However, I think that all films are now going to have to be as big as the Man of Steel because anything smaller will be considered a waste of time and a failure. Also I think to save time and money, DC/WB should  do more crossover films with other Just...

So, Man of Steel has been out for a while now. I still haven't seen it. Even though everyone is giving it rave reviews. I'm not fully convinced. After the shockingly shambolic travesty that was Superman Returns.  I just don't know if I am ready to put myself through the experience of watching another Superman film. However, as a major comic book fan and a lover of film. I feel it's my duty to watch this film. One of the fears I have is that it will disappoint me like the previous Superman film. It did not. Compared to the previous shambles that was Superman Returns. Man of Steel was so good, this is in comparison to all Superman films after Superman 1. Snyder did a great job. However, I prefer The Dark Knight Rises. For all of the reasons I prefer Dark Knight Rises. ALL OF THE REASONS!! That is just my opinion. What's yours?
