Man of Steel and its problems

MAN OF STEEL WAS AMAZING!!! It was. But once you start to see it and its faults. It's not so amazing anymore. Not to take away from what Snyder did with Superman in bringing him back from the abyss that Superman Returns left him in. But I think he treated Superman too much like his previous films, that was his mistake.

First of all, the film was too long. I don't know why Snyder can't tell a story in under one hundred minutes. It's possible. Snyder doesn't seem to know that though. His last four films have all been over one hundred minutes. In the case of Man of Steel, it was long for no reason. It was just needlessly long. It had too many flashbacks and took too long to get to the point.

Another thing that I found really annoying about the Man of Steel was the fact that it was basically a CGI heavy version of Superman 2. It has the same villains, the same fights, the same outcome. There were differences of course. But the fact that it's not truly an orginal idea really annoys me. Moreover, people were praising Snyder for the story. When it wasn't even his own idea! If anything, Man of Steel is a Superman 2 reamke.

I could go on forever about the things I thought were wrong with this film, but I'm going to leave it there. Overall, I would just like to reiterate that I did and still like this movie. This post is just me being overly crictical.

Silly Sony, they do some shocking things. You know how this goes. This constant fixation on graphics - I find this so infuriating. I like substance over style. To me, Sony and their fans just seem to look to aesthetics and then talk about gameplay. Just watch any Sony conference to see what I'm talking about. The PS4 unveiling conference. It was just full of tech demos and cutscenes . Then they tried to say all of the games will look that during gameplay, then at E3. They just didn't. But what annoys me the most is the fan response to this stuff. They always blow things out of proportion.  There are so many games I have played on PS3 that people said were aesthetically amazing, only to find the game was boring and wasn't actually that good in my opinion. Switch Hype

Even PS4 characters are hyped for Switch! As I mentioned in my last post, which you can read  here.  I am now the proud owner of a Nintendo Switch. I couldn't be happier. I have downloaded a few demos (I don't have the money for all the games I want right now) and I am really enjoying Fire Emblem Warriors.  Just like Hyrule Warriors before it, it is so much more than a Dynasty Warriors game with Nintendo characters. Jrspesh's Return/Finally got a Switch!

I have finally returned. It's been a while. Over a year I believe. I have been away for too long.  I have been trying and failing to get my life together and chase and catch my dreams. But enough of the sad stuff. Let's get back to what we all love to talk about GAMES! So, Early in the year I went to the Nintendo Switch Premiere Event at Earl's Court. Eagerly waiting to play the Nintendo Switch for the first time.  ARMS was very popular. The line to wait to play was never-ending. I destroyed a few people on Ultra Street Fighter 2.  The Switch in all it's glory.  I got to play FAST RMX. Very good showcase of the Switch's abilities.  So more ARMS.  The line for Zelda: Breath of the Wild was so long. I never got to play it.
